MAT Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Description: PrimeCare Medical Inc. is looking for dedicated and hard-working MAT Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work full-time on the day shift in the medical department at the Lancaster County Prison in Lancaster, PA. Available Shift: FT Day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) Job Responsibilities: The Licensed Practical Nurse will primarily be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is communicated to appropriate personnel. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nurse will also maintain, update and work with electronic medical records and ensure that they are secure. Other responsibilities will include: Deliver nursing care for Medication Assisted Treatment Program in accordance with PCM Policies and Procedures. Ensures that nursing practice complies with established nursing standards, and scope of practice limitations. Function as Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Nurse and coordinate care for all patients receiving medications for Substance Use Disorder. Assigning and directing the MAT nursing staff and overseeing the patient care being distributed. Provide comprehensive nursing care while observing and maintaining security requirements. Responsible for coordination and implementation of daily dosing of MAT medications in accordance with facility procedures and PCM dosing policy. Act as MAT patient liaison through permitted communications on behalf of PCM, the contracted facility and outside agencies. Coordinate care for all MAT Patients and/or applicable candidates by obtaining records, coordinating care and making appropriate referrals. Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws Conducting sick call for inmate/patients and provide treatment illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by PCM Medical Director Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions and progress of inmates/patients and participate in the formulation of the plan of care Record, retrieve and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record This position provides a 2-week orientation period where you will be training on-the-job and shadowing with the nursing staff. Requirements: The Licensed Practical Nurse is a fast paced position and as such we must have someone who has the ability to multi-task and has a good grasp of patient assessment skills. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nurse must be licensed to practice nursing in the state in which the facility is located. Other requirements for the Licensed Practical Nurse include: Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania Ability to communicate effectively Ability to function under supervision Demonstrate clinical competency Experience in correctional health care delivery system, a plus
