My preceptor changed in week six and nobody told me why

Six weeks in on step down. Monday I came in and had a different name next to mine on the board.
The new one is good. That is not the issue. The issue is that everything I had already proved, I am now proving again from the start, and my orientation clock did not restart with it.
Has this happened to you, and did you ask for the weeks back? I do not know whether that is a reasonable request or a naive one.

Reasonable request, and ask the educator rather than the new preceptor, because the clock belongs to the program and not to the person standing next to you.
Bring the specific thing you lost: I was independent on this list of tasks and I am now being re checked on them. That framing gets weeks back. Asking generally for more time usually does not, because it sounds like you are struggling rather than being restarted.

Happened to me at week four and I said nothing, which I regret. Keep your own running list of what you are signed off on, dated, starting today.
Mine was in my head and when it mattered I could not produce it. A list on paper is what turns this from a feeling into a request somebody can act on.
