The question
Nurses week. Pizza at eleven, gone by eleven fifteen, and four of us ate at three because the floor did not care what week it was.
I am not above free food. What gets me is the photo afterward.
What has an employer actually done that landed for you? Genuinely asking, because I would like to be able to name something concrete when a manager asks what would help.

The one that landed was a manager who covered the desk for an hour so the two of us who had not eaten could go, on an ordinary Tuesday with no week attached to it.
Cost nothing and nobody photographed it. That is roughly the test.

Ours put the money into a proper break room instead. Actual chairs, a door that closes, a fridge that works.
It is not a gesture, which is exactly why it still helps a year later.

Concrete thing to name when your manager asks: predictable scheduling further out. More than food, more than anything on a wall.
I can plan a life around six weeks of notice. I could not plan one around gratitude.

I love me a good pizza party, but at least get enough for everyone. I'd be pissed if I smelled pizza all day then didn't get any
