ALCUIN SCHOOL

The school employs nursing staff to support the health and well-being of its students and employees, ensuring the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality medical care in alignment with school policies and procedures. The current known nursing opportunity is a Substitute School Nurse role, which provides short-term or as-needed coverage when the primary School Nurse is unavailable. This position reports to the Associate Head of School for Institutional Advancement. The Substitute School Nurse operates under the direction of the School Nurse and is responsible for addressing clinical needs across a broad pediatric and adolescent age range. Duties include providing first aid and medical attention to students, faculty, and staff, exercising clinical judgement in triage of illness or injury, and responding with appropriate intervention methods using aseptic techniques. This is a per-diem or as-needed role rather than a full-time position, and the clinical environment is a school health setting rather than a hospital or traditional clinical facility.
