Job Overview
We have the finest emergency centers in the nation. Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center has specific service areas for Triage, Pediatric Care, Critical Care, Adult Medical/Surgical and Urgent Care, ensuring focused and dedicated staff, equipment and facilities. The Emergency Department is seeking a Registered Nurse to be part of our skilled and compassionate staff of physicians and nurses.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include
Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes Pursuing continued professional growth through access to continuing education, clinical ladder opportunities, and organizational resources that support long-term career progression

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing; be I. V. certified from an approved facility or complete the requirements for I. V. certification within 90 days of hire to the unit; hold a current American Heart Association BLS certification. ACLS upon hire or within 6 months of the start date. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred.
Prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a full-time 37.5-hour working week consisting of three 12.5-hour day shifts. The schedule is a day shift — 9AM-10PM—with every other weekend and holiday rotations required.
