Director of Clinical Services

The DCS works closely with the interdisciplinary team (IDT), physicians, and executive leadership to support compassionate end-of-life care across the community.

As Director of Clinical Services, you will

*Clinical Leadership & Operations*

• Oversee daily clinical operations, ensuring adherence to hospice care standards
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate clinical staff
• Facilitate interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings, case reviews, and care planning
• Ensure timely completion of clinical documentation and assessments
• Provide expertise on symptom management and end-of-life care
• Address and resolve patient and family concerns

*Compliance, Quality & Regulatory*

• Ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid Conditions of Participation, Texas HHSC regulations, and accreditation standards
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and chart reviews (QAPI)
• Monitor clinical performance metrics and report outcomes
• Prepare teams for surveys, audits, and accreditation reviews
• Stay current on regulatory updates and educate staff

*Admissions & Eligibility*

• Collaborate with admissions to ensure appropriate patient eligibility and timely onboarding
• Review and approve clinical documentation for hospice eligibility
• Work with physicians and medical directors on level-of-care decisions
• Support efforts to reduce inappropriate discharges

*Staff Development & Retention*

• Recruit, hire, and retain qualified clinical staff
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching
• Identify training needs and implement education programs
• Promote a culture of accountability, compassion, and teamwork

*Collaboration & Communication*

• Act as a liaison between clinical teams and executive leadership
• Partner with leadership on growth strategies and referral relationships
• Collaborate with billing and compliance teams for accurate documentation
• Represent the organization within the healthcare community

*On-Call & Clinical Support*

• Participate in or oversee on-call coverage
• Provide after-hours support for clinical issues and emergencies

*QualificationsEducation & Licensure*

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Master’s degree (MSN or related field) preferred
• Active, unrestricted RN license in Texas (or eligibility)

*Experience*

• 3–5 years of hospice or palliative care experience required
• 2–3 years of hospice clinical leadership or supervisory experience
• Experience leading interdisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations and QAPI programs
• ACHC or CHAP accreditation experience preferred

*Work Requirements*

• Travel within the service area (patient homes, SNFs, assisted living facilities)
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
