Position Purpose

AtSaint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) delivers patient care to individuals in critical condition.

What You Will Do

  • Assume responsibility for Critical Care Patients, conducting assessments, devising care plans, and adjusting critical drips to ensure hemodynamic stability and appropriate sedation levels.
  • Attend to patients requiring advanced monitoring, heightened observation, utilization of invasive equipment, and administration of intricate medication regimens.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required
  • Valid RN license inConnecticut
  • Ideal candidates will have one or more years of ICU, Critical Care, or Step Down nursing experience

Preferred

  • BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • ACLS certification, support available for certification post-hire.

Important Consideration

This role is not designed for new graduates or those seeking training for Intensive Care nursing. Candidates must be able to function independently in the ICU, and their resumes must demonstrate expertise in ICU-level patient care.

Position Highlights

  • Rotating weekends and holidays
  • Specialty pay available for experienced nurses with one or more years of RN experience.
  • Hourly position, included in RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95.
