Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for obstetric patients across labor, delivery, postpartum and newborn care, following established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications per orders, assist with labor and delivery, and support newborn care as required.
- Collaborate with the obstetric team and coordinate with other specialties to ensure safe, comprehensive patient care.
- Collect and analyze assessment data, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate progress toward expected outcomes.
- Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, discharge planning, and newborn care. Delegate and coordinate duties among the nursing team as appropriate.
- Maintain a safe, healing environment with attention to infection control, patient safety, and quality of care.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license to practice in Oregon (state of practice).
- BSN preferred.
- Minimum of two years of recent RN experience in the field.
- Current CPR/BLS certification; AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS required.
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS certification required.
- Ability to work in a high-acuity obstetric/acute care setting and to cover 3x12-hour day shifts as scheduled.
- All associates must meet vaccination requirements per policy.
