About this role

We are seeking a qualified OR Registered Nurse with Orthopedic and Pain Management experience to join our OR team. Surgical floor experience a must. Core responsibilities include:● Provide excellent patient care and ensure a positive experience for all patients and visitors● Provide clinical and general administrative support for the OR● Knowledge of principles of asepsis, infection control, and universal precautions● Minimizes the risk of hospital-acquired infections by focusing on infection control protocols and maintaining environmental safety standards● Proficient in the operation and maintenance of operating room equipment and instrumentation, including proper cleaning and sterilization● Knowledge of surgical procedures and specific nursing care for a wide variety of surgical specialties● Monitors and assesses the physical status of the patient through personal observation and interaction● Assesses and responds to the individual, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patient and significant others● Acts as a patient advocate in the coordination of patient care● Utilizes supplies, equipment, and resources to contain cost without compromising delivery of care● Applies professional nursing judgment to implement the nursing care plan and address identified issues specific to each patient● Reports and documents information accurately and in a timely manner● Seeks guidance and assistance as needed, while consistently adhering to the surgical center policies and procedures● Ensures that Code carts are fully stocked, defibrillators are operational, and daily checks are completed● Changes gas cylinders as necessary to maintain medical gas system integrity● Communicates the need for replacement tanks or system issues and monitors that gas outlets are shut off at the end of the day● Promotes cooperation and minimizes disruption to the work environment● Prepares nursing and operative documentation for each patient● Check all suction outlets and monitors to ensure they are functioning properly● Knowledge of potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, patients with communicable diseases, and hazardous equipment and/or agents in an OR setting is required, along with the ability to handle these situations appropriately● Physical demands include manual dexterity to perform tasks requiring precise hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills● Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations● Must possess the ability to read and write effectively to understand and communicate essential information, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and documentation requirements● Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time● Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time● Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry with a starting weight of 25 pounds● Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl● Must be able to reach effectively to perform tasks at various heights and positions, ensuring access to equipment and patients as needed● Must be able to move heavy equipment● Must be able to assist in moving patients of varying sizes and weights (in excess of 100 pounds), ensuring safety and comfort during transfers● Other duties as assigned by managementRequired Skills & Experience● Candidate must have a New Jersey Registered Professional License (RN) or Licensed Practice Nurse License (LPN)● Preferred CNOR from AORN; evidence of continuing education● Current BLS and ACLS required (PALS if applicable)● Recent Operating Room experience required● Computer and keyboard proficiency● Knowledge of medical terminology● Excellent verbal and communication skills● Detail oriented● Excellent time management skills● Ambulatory Surgical Center background experience preferred● Multi-tasker● Candidate should be familiar with EMRPay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
