About this role

Role Overview

Provides professional nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Promotes evidence-based practices and develops individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Performs patient assessments through interviews, observations, and physical exams, and uses appropriate interventions to achieve desired outcomes. Documents patient progress, modifies care plans as needed, and ensures accurate and timely documentation.

Operates and troubleshoots medical equipment, obtains lab specimens, and performs bedside lab testing per protocols. Coordinates interdisciplinary care, delegates tasks appropriately, and advocates for patients with physicians when necessary. Communicates effectively with team members, provides patient and family education tailored to age, cultural, and developmental needs.

Ensures patient safety by adhering to policies, safety goals, and quality standards, and participates in data collection and process improvement initiatives. Engages in performance improvement activities, promotes patient and family satisfaction, and actively participates in unit-based councils.

Qualifications & Skills

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with applicable state licensure. Certification in ACLS within 1 year and BLS within 30 days. Strong clinical knowledge, technical skills, and ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Excellent communication, teaching, and problem-solving skills to support patient care and safety.
