*Title:* Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (Gastroenterology) *Department:* Clinical Operations *Reports To:* Supervising Physician / Practice Administrator *Location:* Lubbock Gastroenterology & Liver Associates (LGLA), Lubbock, Texas *Status:* Part-Time – 2 days per week (8 hours per day) with the possibility of an additional shift

*Position Summary*

The Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive gastroenterology care under the supervision of a physician. This position supports the clinic’s mission of providing high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining efficiency, teamwork, and clinical excellence. The NP evaluates, diagnoses, and manages patients with gastrointestinal disorders, performs patient education, and collaborates closely with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

  • Perform detailed assessments and evaluations of patients presenting with gastrointestinal and liver-related concerns.
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic studies including laboratory work, imaging, and endoscopic results.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions such as GERD, IBS, IBD, and liver disease.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment and follow-up care plans based on evidence-based guidelines.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and diagnostic interventions as appropriate and within scope of practice.
  • Provide patient education regarding disease processes, medication adherence, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure seamless coordination of care.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical documentation in accordance with LGLA policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, clinical training, and quality improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Adhere to all clinical, ethical, and legal standards in accordance with Texas Board of Nursing regulations and LGLA protocols.

*Qualifications and Requirements*

  • Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current and unrestricted *Texas Nurse Practitioner license*.
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGNP, or ACNP).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an NP; experience in gastroenterology or internal medicine preferred.
  • Proficient clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to providing patient-centered, 11-Star care consistent with LGLA’s cultural pillars.

*Work Schedule*

  • Two (2) scheduled workdays per week, eight (8) hours per day.
  • Additional shift may be added depending on patient volume or clinic needs.
  • On-site, in-person clinical role.

*Physical and Environmental Requirements*

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and assist patients as needed within safety guidelines.
  • Work performed in a clinical environment with possible exposure to biohazardous materials.
