About this role

Mayo Clinic Health System Minnesota is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Medical Oncology practice. This position is based in Albert Lea with planned outreach care to Owatonna. The Minnesota Medical Oncology practice is a physician-led team of board-certified Hematology and Oncology physicians working in collaboration with multiple specialties including Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Radiology, and Pathology.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team of cancer care professionals focused on diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of various types of cancer. Weekly tumor boards and clinical research trials are part of the practice. This position requires direct patient care and telemedicine services.

The NP/PA in collaboration with Medical Oncologists and a care team consisting of RNs, LPNs, Social Services, Nutrition Services, Pharmacy, and other ancillary support staff provide clinical care to cancer patients at various stages of treatment and recovery.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Obtain Hematology/Oncology specific histories and physicals.
  • Order, interpret, diagnose, and communicate diagnostic results to patients and care team members.
  • Devise and implement treatment care plans.
  • Facilitate and deliver patient education regarding Hematology/Oncology conditions.
  • Provide Hematology/Oncology follow-up care.
  • Clinical time will be in the outpatient setting, and may provide infusion center support.

Requirements

  • Current MN RN and APRN license
  • Certification as a FNP, ANP or ACNP
  • Current PA certification by NCCPA
  • Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • DEA registration
