FBG Service Corporation is seeking an experienced *Commercial Building Maintenance Technician* to support operations at the *Alliant Energy Headquarters* in Madison, Wisconsin.

This position is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting building systems, solving problems, and taking pride in keeping a premier commercial facility operating safely and efficiently.

As a member of our facilities team, you'll perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, complete repairs, and help maintain a first-class environment for our customer. Every day brings new challenges, opportunities to learn, and the ability to make a visible impact.

*What You'll Do*

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on commercial building systems and equipment.
  • Inspect equipment to identify maintenance needs before failures occur.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems within the scope of your training and qualifications.
  • Install, repair, and replace mechanical components, fixtures, and facility equipment.
  • Coordinate specialized repairs with licensed contractors when required.
  • Complete work orders accurately using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain maintenance records, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform light carpentry, painting, drywall repair, ceiling tile replacement, and general building repairs.
  • Assist with office furniture moves, event setup, and facility modifications.
  • Support operation and maintenance of:
  • Commercial HVAC systems
  • Electrical distribution systems
  • Plumbing systems
  • Emergency generators
  • Building automation systems (BAS/BMS)
  • Elevators (vendor coordination)
  • Overhead doors
  • Mechanical equipment
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a professional, customer-focused manner.
  • Occasionally travel to nearby customer locations as needed.
  • Follow all OSHA, customer, and company safety policies and procedures.

*What We're Looking For*

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Three or more years of commercial building maintenance, facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, healthcare, higher education, government, or corporate office maintenance experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to prioritize work independently while managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using work order or maintenance management software.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

*Preferred Qualifications*

  • Technical school, trade school, apprenticeship, military maintenance, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in Class A office buildings, healthcare, manufacturing, university, or institutional facilities.
  • Experience using CMMS systems (Maximo, Corrigo, FMX, eMaint, or similar).
  • Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS).
  • EPA Universal Certification, HVAC certification, boiler license, electrical certification, OSHA 10, or similar trade certifications are preferred but not required.

*Physical Requirements*

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and ladders throughout the workday.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and maintenance equipment.
  • Work indoors and occasionally outdoors in varying weather conditions.

*Schedule*

  • Primarily Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional overtime, after-hours support, or emergency response may be required based on business needs.
