About this role
Department: 35106 Carolinas Medical Center - LCH: Nursing: 5 Observation. PRN day shift position 7a-7p with weekend and holiday requirements. LCH 5 Observation is 16 beds with a mixed population of observation and short stay inpatients.
Most patients are surgical or procedural and are here for 48-72 hours. Surgical patients are usually children who have had an appendectomy, cleft lip or palate repair, cardiac catheterization, and biopsies. Also care for children requiring special testing such as FPIES studies, fasting glucose testing, and water deprivation studies.
RN plays a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience.

Requirements
- RN license
- 1 year of inpatient nursing experience preferred; at least 6 months required experience outside of New Grad residency program
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire
