Part time sign-on bonus: $1,500

  • Supervisor: Unit Manager or shift supervisor

Duties

Establishes work assignments for unit nurse aides and supervises same to assure task completion if in charge of unit.

Communicates information or data to Supervisor, and/or other disciplines when appropriate.

Responsible for the timely and accurate administration and documentation of physician ordered medications and/or treatments to assigned residents.

Maintains facility procedure for the ordering and receiving of physician prescribed medications.

Performs physical assessments, diagnoses problems, institutes a written care plan and evaluates response to the plan of care.

Documents and /or assures completion of documentation on Electric medical records in a timely fashion according to facility policy and procedure.

Communicates directly with Physician or Physician's Assistant regarding resident condition changes.

Transcribes Physician's/Physician's Assistant's orders with licensed staff and assures proper interpretation and execution of same.

Participates in continuing education and inservice programs both within house and at outside seminars.

Consults with disciplinary team in establishing information, notifications to family, physician and/or administration.

Assesses environment and staff related problems, devices intervention and evaluates outcomes.

Teaches and guides subordinates to insure that they perform according to the Sitrin Health Care Center's Policies and Procedures.

Access to entire medical record of all patients/residents.

Performs duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility's corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws. Adheres to the facility's confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of residents and employees, as necessary to perform job duties.

Performs any other duties assigned by the Head Nurse or Supervisor.

Refer to attached principles and duties guidelines.

Graduate of an approved/accredited School of Nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.

Minimum one (1) year experience in the field of nursing, geriatrics preferred.

Leadership ability and effective communication.
