APP - Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner | Urology

The Urogynecology Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care to women with pelvic floor disorders including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and other pelvic health issues. The NP works in collaboration with urogynecologists and multidisciplinary teams to evaluate, diagnose, and manage complex urogynecologic conditions through both conservative and surgical treatment approaches. Conduct comprehensive pelvic health assessments including history, physical exams, and specialized testing.

Order and interpret diagnostic studies such as urodynamics, pelvic ultrasounds, and MRI scans. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pelvic floor physical therapy, medications, and surgical interventions. Manage preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing urogynecologic procedures.

Provide patient education on pelvic floor disorders, bladder health, and lifestyle modifications. Perform office-based procedures such as pessary fittings, bladder scans, and catheterizations. Collaborate with pelvic floor physical therapists, colorectal specialists, and other healthcare providers.

Document clinical findings, treatment plans, and patient progress accurately in electronic health records. Participate in research, quality improvement, and patient education initiatives within the urogynecology specialty.
