Provides other support services, dictated by patient needs, as a care delivery team member. Job Duties Performs the duties of a Clinic LPN and serves as a role model in the delivery of quality patient care. Obtains and documents chief complaint, vital signs, and prepares patient for examination. Identifies and addresses physical, social and psychological needs of the patient and family to the registered nurse. Observes, identifies and documents patient condition and care according to the unit standard and reports changes in condition to registered nurse. Reinforces health teaching, collects and prepares laboratory specimens and completes associated paperwork. Cleans and sets up exam rooms and treatment room between cases. Administers medication and treatments according to procedure and bills and documents accordingly. Prepares patient for diagnostic studies and surgical procedures and assists providers as necessary. Demonstrates responsibilities and accountability in daily operational issues. Inserts, monitors, regulates and discontinues IV's as required by provider. Responsible for maintaining clean utility room, soiled utility room, exam rooms and nursing station to Department of Health, Joint Commission and Unit standards. Assists in problem solving, trouble shooting, and taking corrective measure in care and handling of equipment. Participates in the evaluation and coordination of daily and weekly staffing; coordinates any changes with management. Coordinates purchasing activity, including but not limited to, monitoring inventory and supervising the ordering of items as needed.
