Overview

Provides clinical direction in an acute inpatient setting, focusing on patient/family-centered care. Utilizes evidence-based practices across all nursing processes—assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes—while adhering to safety, quality, and compliance standards. Ensures patient safety, monitors care quality, and updates care plans based on patient response. Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans, set measurable goals, and coordinate discharge planning for seamless care transitions.

Conducts comprehensive assessments, recognizes changes in patient status, and prioritizes care accordingly. Develops and updates patient-centered care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and providers. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice, delegating tasks appropriately.

Monitors care quality, performs audits, and evaluates intervention effectiveness. Implements quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Educates patients and families, fostering understanding and participation in care.

Maintains accurate documentation and advocates for patients’ needs. Reflects on practice, maintains licensure, and pursues professional development.

Qualifications & Skills

Associates degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s preferred. Minimum of one year RN experience or completion of a recognized nurse residency program. Current RN license recognized by the NCSBN Compact or applicable state license. Strong assessment, communication, and collaboration skills.

Additional Information: Night shift; non-management role reporting to supervisory staff; may include weekend, holiday, and on-call duties. Focuses on delivering compassionate, quality care in a multidisciplinary team environment.
