Job Description

Shift: Midnights

Status: 36 hours per week - 12 hour midnight shift. 7:00 pm to 7:30 am with alternating weekend schedule.

General Summary

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Qualifications

Education/experience required

BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Certifications/Licensures Required

Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Health care provider certification (BCLS). RN Lactation Consultant: IBCLC certification must be acquired within 12 months of hire & maintained. One to two (1-2) years as a Lactation Consultant/Specialist preferred. UNIT

Overview

30 bed unit specializing in neuro patients. Some of the patient population consisting of stoke/stroke-like symptoms, seizure, brain bleeds, and other neuro type diagnosis. In addition, will see small number of cardiac patients with a couple cardiac drips that are not titrated, and any other patient’s needed placement. All RNs ACLS and NIH certified.
