Hermiston sits in northeastern Oregon near the Columbia River, offering a small-town, agricultural community feel with a high-desert climate distinct from the rainy coast. Known regionally for its watermelon harvest, the area appeals to nurses seeking a quieter pace and proximity to outdoor recreation along the river and surrounding farmland.
