RN PACU Full Time USPI New Mexico Surgery Center - Orthopaedics is hiring a RN PACU Full Time Welcome to USPI New Mexico Surgery Center - Orthopaedics At USPI New Mexico Surgery Center - Orthopaedics, we believe health and care are inseparable. We focus on offering a high quality, service oriented environment for your surgical procedure. No Weekends! No Call! Paid Holidays! Performs nursing care for the patient in the immediate postoperative/post-anesthesia period, assessing and documenting patient’s status upon arrival in the PACU. Provides nursing care to meet patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered, monitoring patient and informing surgeon or anesthetist of observed complications. Job Summary: Effectively organizes time, equipment, supplies, and personnel for efficient management of the patient Organizes nursing activities efficiently, considering staff abilities when delegating activities Uses equipment effectively by anticipating patient needs and providing appropriate care Confirms that proper techniques and procedures are used according to accepted standards of practice Assists in managing inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the postoperative area Maintains order and cleanliness of postoperative area Performs safe and individualized nursing care for the patient in the immediate postoperative/post-anesthesia period Assesses and documents the patient’s physical and emotional status upon arrival in the recovery room Documents post-anesthesia care in the recovery room during the patient’s recovery fromanesthesia/sedation according to approved policies and procedures Provides nursing care to meet patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered Monitors patients and informs surgeon or anesthetist of observed complications Performs thorough postoperative patient assessment prior to discharge of the patient Assists in assessing the physical and emotional status of the patient in preparation for discharge Develops a plan of care for the patient based on the assessment data Reviews postoperative instructions and prescriptions from the surgeon with patient and significant other/family member and documents in the patient’s medical record Informs patient and family about appropriate care and procedure to follow upon returning home Determines that patient and significant other/family member understand conditions that require immediate care/method to obtain immediate care Provides comfort and reassurance to the patient while promoting privacy and dignity What We Offer As an organization, one way we care for our communities and each other is by providing a comprehensive benefits package that includes the following, subject to employment status: Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage Life and AD&D coverage Availability of short- and long-term disability Flexible financial benefits including FSAs and HSAs 401(k) and access to retirement planning Paid holidays and vacation Who We Are At USPI, we create relationships that create better care. Required Experience: Qualifications: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Currently licensed in the state. BLS, PALS and ACLS certification required. One year experience required intra-operative setting. Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
