Position- Registered Nurse Unit Manager
Pay Rate-$63/hr.- $67/hr.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse - Unit Manager to lead and coordinate nursing care within a dynamic healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive clinical expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. As a Unit Manager, you will oversee daily operations, supervise nursing staff, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster a collaborative environment that promotes excellence in patient outcomes.
Duties
* Provide clinical oversight and leadership for nursing staff, ensuring adherence to nursing policies and best practices.
* Coordinate patient care activities across various units, including medical-surgical, geriatrics, behavioral health, and critical care settings.
* Supervise staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and ongoing training to maintain a motivated and competent team.
* Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, and accreditation standards such as NCQA standards.
* Oversee documentation accuracy within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to maintain precise medical records.
* Facilitate discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes to optimize patient care pathways.
* Monitor patient assessments, vital signs, medication administration, and medical documentation to uphold safety and quality standards.
* Promote infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to prevent healthcare-associated infections across the unit.
Requirements
* Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state certification.
* Extensive clinical experience in acute care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; critical care experience preferred.
* Proven leadership or nurse management experience supervising multidisciplinary teams in long-term care or hospital settings.
* Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms; familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is essential.
* Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to diverse patient populations.
* Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges; dementia or memory care experience is advantageous.
* Ability to manage complex cases involving ventilator management, IV infusion, catheterization, tube feeding, and other advanced procedures.
* Excellent communication skills for managerial coordination and patient-centered interactions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
