DYS is seeking a Nurse 1 (Registered Nurse, RN) to deliver medical services to youth at the Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional Facility. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid nursing background and a passion to habilitate youth. Duties include providing professional nursing care to youth, making nursing rounds, monitoring restrained patients, providing immediate medical attention to emergencies, assisting physicians in evaluation and treatment, preparing examination rooms, charting and recording medical information, and maintaining inventory of controlled drugs and medical equipment.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as registered professional nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Ohio Revised Code
  • Criminal background check
  • Pre-employment drug screening
  • 3 weeks mandatory paid training at the Correctional Training Academy in Orient, Ohio
  • Corrections facility medical clinic experience
  • Experience working with incarcerated individuals
  • Nursing
  • Patient treatment planning
