About the employer
Centurion Health
Hiring organization
You would be walking into Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle, where Centurion runs healthcare for the Indiana Department of Correction. The work is primary and specialty care inside the fence—vitals, labs, EKGs, minor procedures—and some roles stretch into infirmary-style…
What reviewers appreciate
- Hands-on primary and specialty care inside Indiana DOC at Wabash Valley
- RN pay clustering near $40/hour in our postings; employer-stated $40–$50 ranges elsewhere
- Travel path up to ~$2685/week with stipend and multi-site float in Indiana
What reviewers flag
- Staffing shortages and high stress repeatedly flagged; WLB ratings near 2.6–2.8
- Management scores low (Indeed ~2.2; Glassdoor senior management ~2.6)
- Advancement described as present but limited by unclear pathways and inconsistent management

Worth asking
The posting doesn’t answer these. Good ones to ask a recruiter or in the interview.
- Can you walk me through the base pay range and differentials?
- What should I expect for weekly hours, holiday, call, and rotation?
- What orientation, preceptor time, and ongoing unit support are included?
- How are patient load, floating, and staffing support handled day to day?
