The competent Nurse practices independently in a clinical setting, providing routine and complex care. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation), administering medications and treatments, documenting patient history and care, addressing psychological/emotional/cultural/social needs of patients and families, and providing education to patients, family members, and caregivers. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred)
1 year of experience in related nursing specialty (preferred)
BLS required
RN License in state of employment or compact
Current ACLS certification required
OR/Perioperative experience preferred
New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire
Completion of all annual competency verification requirements
