General Description
The School Nurse provides nursing care to and promotes safety and wellness of students and staff, interprets medical terminology to other professional staff, plans appropriate procedures for following medical advice, maintains records of health services, maintains immunization records according to state requirements, screens all students to identify and prevent health problems, interprets public health policies in an attempt to restrict the spread of communicable disease, consults with parents regarding their children’s health needs, provides instruction to others in health practices, and directs, supervises, and assesses the health duties as performed by the health aide. This position is subject to a veterans preference.
