The RN provides a full range of practical nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center. Responsibilities include delivering safe care, using patient care equipment, performing nursing procedures, formulating care plans based on nursing assessments, documenting the nursing process using CPRS and BCMA software, demonstrating critical thinking skills, and identifying patients exhibiting disruptive, threatening, violent or suicidal behavior. The RN works as part of a nursing team interacting with patients, family members, and professional/supportive personnel.

Requirements

  • RN License
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • English language proficiency
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing accredited by ACEN or CCNE
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Master's degree in nursing (MSN)
  • Doctoral degree in Nursing
