Occasional Saturday clinics. This role is a permanent 9 month position. This role works during the fall and spring semester of the academic year from August to May annually. The major function of Campus Health is that of providing outpatient care to the 34,000+ NC State students. Some level of medical care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the academic year beginning in August and ending in May. Hours of service vary during the summer and during holidays and student breaks. Essential Job Duties Make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of NC State students by providing compassionate, high-quality nursing care in a collaborative clinical environment. As a 12-month Professional Nurse with Campus Health, you will deliver patient-centered care across multiple clinical areas, supporting students through assessment, treatment, education, and follow-up while helping ensure accessible, responsive healthcare throughout the year. Key Responsibilities Direct Patient Care Assess patients, implement treatment plans, and evaluate patient responses to care while rotating among the Medical Clinic, Treatment Clinic, Travel Clinic, Centennial Campus, and Gynecology Services. Administer intravenous (IV) fluids, medications, and immunizations in accordance with state regulations, university requirements, standing orders, and established clinical procedures. Assist with physical examinations, provide patient education, and coordinate referrals to support continuity of care for the college-aged population. Clinical Documentation & Care Coordination Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and clinical interventions within the electronic health record. Work independently under established standing orders while collaborating with providers and clinical staff to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Safety & Operational Support Maintain safe clinical practices while working with blood, body secretions, and communicable diseases, following infection prevention, safety, and regulatory guidelines. Participate in fire, Code Blue, and emergency preparedness drills to support operational readiness. Report to work during adverse weather conditions and public health emergencies to help ensure continuity of Campus Health services. Qualifications Minimum Experience/Education Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Preferred Qualifications Experience using Electronic Health Record ( EHR ) systems in an ambulatory or outpatient healthcare setting. Experience administering immunizations, intravenous (IV) therapies, and medications in accordance with established clinical protocols. Experience providing nursing care to college-aged or young adult populations. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing for extended periods, and bending to perform patient care activities. Availability to report to work during adverse weather events and public health emergencies in support of essential clinical operations. Required License Or Certification A current license to practice as a registered nurse in NC by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
