Overview

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, level 2 trauma environment. They collaborate with medical providers and care teams to assess, perform, teach, and manage patient needs, serving as an advocate for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and regularly evaluate patient pain, ensuring effective management and reassessment post-intervention. Perform procedures, monitoring, and interventions as ordered, documenting care thoroughly and promptly. Respond swiftly to patient requests, proactively anticipating needs for optimal care. Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle changes, and follow-up measures, ensuring clear understanding. Prepare patients for self-management and educate on disease prevention and healthy habits.

Qualifications & Skills

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). Current RN license in the practice state or active compact license. AHA BLS certification required; ACLS, NIH Stroke, TNCC, and ENPC certifications to be obtained within specified timeframes. PALS preferred. One year of nursing experience is preferred.
