Instead of caring for dozens of patients during a shift, you'll have the opportunity to provide thoughtful, relationship-based care in one school community. You'll become a trusted healthcare resource for students, families, and school staff while helping students safely participate in their education. Every day is meaningful, collaborative, and predictable... As predictable as nursing can get. You'll work alongside teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to support student health while enjoying a schedule that leaves your evenings, weekends, holidays, and summers free. This position primarily supports a student with ongoing medical needs while also serving as a valued member of the school's health team when additional support is needed. Schedule Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM 40 hours per week | 0.70 FTE August - June, following school schedule Preferred start Date: August 10th Compensation Approximately $53,000–$64,000 annually ($36–$42 per hour) Benefits Direct access to a clinical provider (you + dependents) Discounted care through HealthBar's network Medical insurance (with HSA option) Paid Time Off Biannual profit sharing Employee 401(k) contributions Short- and long-term disability & life insurance Licensure & certification renewal support What Your Days Look Like You’ll provide nursing support within the school setting, including: Providing nursing care for a student with complex respiratory needs throughout the school day Monitoring health status and responding to changes in condition Managing tracheostomy and ventilator-related care according to physician orders and care plans Administering medications and treatments as prescribed Assessing and responding to illness, injuries, or medical emergencies during the school day Maintaining accurate health records and documenting care provided Collaborating with teachers, administrators, therapists, and families to support the student’s health and educational goals Serving as a health resource for school staff and assisting with health-related needs as appropriate Program Details This position is primarily focused on supporting a student who requires ongoing tracheostomy care throughout the school day. This role offers the opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term relationship with a student and school community while providing consistent nursing support throughout the school year. Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build trust with both the student and educational team are important for success in this role. The (Required) Qualifications To practice safely and compliantly, we do need: Active, unrestricted Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license Experience with tracheostomy and ventilator care strongly preferred Experience working with pediatric patients, school settings, or medically complex individuals preferred Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) within 90 days of hire Background check and fingerprinting will be required for this role The Pay Range For This Role Is 53,000 - 63,000 USD per year(SNP- Sparta Public Schools)
