The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing a variety of duties to provide quality nursing care to residents and to coordinate total nursing care for residents; for participating with the Director of Nursing and the Unit Managers in establishing specific goals; for ensuring compliance with all operating policies and procedures and Michigan Department of Health & Human Services regulations and Federal Health Care Administration regulations; for communicating with and supervising appropriate personnel; for providing daily reports and other periodic reports; and for performing all the duties of a Certified Nurse Aide when required.

Requirements

Current Michigan RN License
Current Michigan license as a Registered Nurse
CPR certification required
Two years of professional nursing experience in the long-term care setting is preferred
Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing in a long-term care setting
Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Basic computer knowledge is required
Tolerate frequent exposure to blood, body tissues, and fluids with occasional exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases
