- RN License
- Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire for Critical Care/Intermediate Care Unit
- ACLS and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire for Emergency Care
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire for Oncology Care
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) within 6 months of hire for Women's Care/Perinatal departments
- PALS within 90 days of hire for Inpatient Pediatrics
- Experience working with cardiac care patients
- Knowledge of routine nursing procedures and RN and LPN scope of practice
