Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR RN) - Birmingham, AL

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled registered nurse with experience in the Operating Room. Schedule/Hours 36 hours per week 3x • 12 hour shifts 0600 – 1830 On-call: 2 weekdays and 1 full weekend day per month Preferred Experience/Qualifications Current RN license in good standing Minimum of one year recent experience in the Operating Room (RN-OR) Familiarity and proficiency with ENT, Davinci XI, Gynecology, General, Neuro, or Vascular surgical procedures highly preferred Ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure situations Strong organizational and communication skills BLS and ACLS certifications (preferred or as required by facility) Team-oriented with a focus on optimal patient outcomes Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures Collaborate with surgical staff, anesthesiologists, and other team members to ensure coordination and high-quality care Prepare equipment and supplies for surgeries, including specialized instruments for ENT, Davinci XI, Gyn, General, Neuro, and Vascular procedures Monitor patients’ vital signs and identify changes in condition during surgery Uphold stringent infection prevention and safety standards Document care delivered and patient responses according to established protocols This contract position offers the opportunity to work with advanced technology and a diverse caseload, helping you further develop specialized nursing skills.
