Summary
We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our Pediatrics department at Urban Health Plan which is stationed at our El Nuevo San Juan Health Center in the Bronx, NY.
Minimum
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Nursing is required.
- NYS Registered Professional Nurse, required.
- All experience levels are welcome to apply, whether this is your first role as a nurse, or you are coming in as a seasoned nurse. Passion for supporting children and families is essential.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
- Excellent communication skills, compassion, empathy, and team-driven attributes are essential.
- Knowledge/training in electronic health records and Microsoft Office.
Key
Duties
- Triage patients and assists patients with their needs based on acuity.
- Reviews patient's health status and conditions.
- Provides quality nursing care and medication administration.
- Administers immunizations/vaccines to specified patients.
- Monitors patient reactions and side-effects.
- Assists care team with pre-visit planning for high-risk patients.
- Ensures implementation of plans of care.
- Behaves as a role-model and resource of nursing guidance to medical assistants that are part of the team.
- Assists with prepping patients as needed and providing patient education.
- Assists providers during examinations and treatments.
- Ensures proper sterilization procedures using germicides, sterilizers, or autoclave.
- Ensures departmental adherence to clinical policies and procedures.
- Maintains health records by documenting patient contact and updating patient profile.
- Implements standing orders.
- Checks equipment, logs, and medical kits. Assists with ordering medical supplies, medications, and vaccines.

Compensation
Minimum $82,560 Maximum $98,560/annum contingent on degree and experience level.
Work Environment Type, Location, and
Schedule
Onsite, Bronx, NY, Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm/9:00am-6:00pm with some Saturday coverage availability (rotating shifts)
