We’re hiring a Registered Nurse for our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to provide comprehensive, family-centered care to critically ill children. In this role, you’ll use your clinical expertise, critical thinking, and compassion to care for pediatric patients while partnering closely with families and the interdisciplinary care team.
What You’ll Do
Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care using individualized plans based on each child’s developmental, physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs
Monitor patient conditions closely, respond to changes quickly, and carry out physician orders related to care, treatment, and education
Partner with patients’ families by listening, sharing information clearly, and supporting them in care decisions
Collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care

Practice in alignment with ANA standards, the NC Board of Nursing Practice Act, and WakeMed’s Professional Practice and Patient & Family Centered Care models
Who You Are
A licensed Registered Nurse in North Carolina (or eligible for licensure)
Experienced in pediatric, critical care, or ICU nursing—or excited to grow in a high-acuity pediatric environment
Calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and confident in clinical decision-making
Passionate about family-centered care and clear, compassionate communication
A team player who supports unit goals and WakeMed’s mission and values
