Clinical Leadership Opportunity – Director of Nursing
Carmel Hills Wellness & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations in our Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and quality of nursing care, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations while maintaining a strong, resident-centered care culture.
This is a senior leadership role overseeing 24-hour nursing operations and serving as the key clinical leader in the absence of the Administrator.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Oversight
Direct and manage all nursing services within the facility
Ensure high-quality resident care in accordance with physician orders and care plans
Oversee the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Team Leadership & Staff Management
Lead, mentor, and develop nursing leadership and frontline staff
Communicate and reinforce policies, procedures, and clinical expectations
Ensure appropriate staffing levels and effective workforce management
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and company regulations
Monitor nursing practices to ensure adherence to clinical standards
Participate in quality assurance, audits, and survey readiness activities
Ensure resident rights and care standards are consistently upheld
Operational & Administrative Leadership
Participate in daily and weekly leadership meetings regarding census, staffing, and resident concerns
Oversee admission decisions and may conduct prospective resident visits
Address clinical concerns, complaints, and operational issues in a timely manner
Assume full facility operational responsibility in absence of Administrator

Requirements
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Missouri
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Missouri
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
Minimum 5 years of experience in long-term care or acute healthcare setting preferred
Minimum 2+ years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience required
Strong knowledge of SNF regulations, clinical operations, and survey readiness
Proven ability to lead teams and maintain a high standard of care
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
