This position provides skilled nursing care for the incarcerated offender in various clinic settings; this is a NIGHT SHIFT position at the South Dakota State Penitentiary. This position will work every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), and every third holiday. Registered nurses are responsible for documenting in accurate and timely manner to provide comprehensive inmate medical records, transcribing reports at change of shifts, providing standardized patient education, preserving confidentiality, providing physical care and treatments, administering medications, collaborating on treatment plans, employing infection control measures, providing crises intervention, interviewing and triaging offenders, assisting physicians with minor medical and surgical procedures, ensuring ordering and restocking of medications and supplies, and more.
Requirements
Current valid RN license from South Dakota Board of Nursing or any eNLC state
CPR certification to AHA guidelines
TB (tuberculosis) screening upon hire
Background investigation
Drug screening
US work authorization (E-Verify)
Resume or CV with three professional references
Physical ability to complete self-defense exam
