The VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS) Acute Care Registered Nurse delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Major duties include demonstrating proficiency in practice based on conscious and deliberate planning, demonstrating leadership and independence of practice in coordinating the management of complex patient care, providing effective compassionate delivery of health services, collaborating with others to improve nursing practice and patient care, and working effectively as a team member.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license from any US State or territory
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing accredited by ACEN or CCNE
  • English language proficiency
  • Background/security investigation
  • Drug screening (urinalysis)
  • Selective Service Registration for males born after 12/31/1959
  • Pre-employment physical evaluation/examination
