About this role
The MDS Coordinator assists the Director of Nursing and the RN Assessment Coordinator with ensuring that documentation in the center meets Federal, State, and Certification guidelines. The MDS Coordinator coordinates the RAI process assuring the timeliness, and completeness of the MDS, CAAs, and Interdisciplinary Care Plan. Principal Responsibilities include assuring adherence to Federal and State regulations, participating in regulatory/certification survey process, reporting trends from audits to Quality Assurance Committee, assuring completion of RAI Process, initiating and monitoring RAI process tracking through PointClickCare system, completing patient assessments and data collection, facilitating accurate determination of Assessment Reference Date, and ensuring timely submission of MDSs to the State.

Requirements
Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse program
Licensed in the state of practice
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred
Knowledge of Case-Mix, Federal Medicare PPS process, and Medicaid reimbursement
Understanding of Quality Indicator process
Knowledge of OBRA regulations and Minimum Data Set
Knowledge of care planning process
Skilled nursing facility experience
