Day shift for experienced RNs only. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - East Tower, 4th Floor. This dedicated unit consists of 62 beds in 44 private patient rooms and is located in the East Tower. Credentialed as a Level III NICU, practicing highly technical, state-of-the-art care for high-risk premature babies and full-term newborns in need of specialized care. Nurses work with neonatologists, cardiologists, surgeons and other medical specialties as a team approach to care and provide the best care for infants. Provides individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages. Uses a team approach to delegate and coordinate patient care at admission, transfer, and discharge. Independently delivers nursing care using the Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Medical Center policies, nursing standards, ethical principles, and professional judgment. Works rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Requirements

  • Current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six (6) weeks of hire
  • Experience working with neonates
  • Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
  • Mid-level experience
