Founded in the 1950s by community philanthropists, Asante remains governed by a local volunteer board of directors and physicians who live and work in the community. The system comprises three hospitals—Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (Medford), Asante Three Rivers Medical Center (Grants Pass), and Asante Ashland Community Hospital (Ashland)—along with Asante Physician Partners, a physician medical group. Asante is one of the few independent, locally owned, not-for-profit hospital systems nationwide operating in a financially viable manner.
